About The Artwork

Artist proofed, signed and incredibly limited edition print. The first of only 25! Once they are gone, there will be no more runs. Giclée, the French word for ‘spray’, refers to the ink jet printing process used to produce these beautiful archival standard fine art prints. The print uses professional, fade-resistant Epson inks and Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm paper, resulting in beautiful, fully archival prints with incredibly fine detail. The second image is for reference as the print will also come with a custom mount that will fit standard 16 x 12in frames - making it less expensive to frame your print in comparison to bespoke framing. The print will come in a cellophane envelope together with certificate of authenticity along with the standard packaging.

Francis Reynolds is a British Artist who lives and works in Cambridgeshire, England. He returned to education as a mature student in 2007 to study Fine Art. Reynolds graduated with a Fine Art BA at Loughborough University in 2012. Since graduating, Francis started a family yet still achieves regular exhibitions nationally together with instructing Art students at a local academy. His paintings are held in Private collections throughout the UK and internationally. Reynolds’ practice can be seen to be quite destructive in as far as process. However, it can be said that the passive/ aggressive nature of the paintings lends themselves to the very nature of the human condition. Reynolds’ outcomes strive to question and reinvigorate the subject; its historical and contemporary context. Together with consolidating ideas of deconstruction; an act of taking apart and rebuilding. This may also highlight the deconstruction of conventions and what is expected from representational painting. The body of work can be seen to emphasise process by exaggerating the application and meticulous methodology through thin layers of paint and blocks of colour. This functions as a way of viewing what was there from past layers, and where decisions in the reconstruction of form were made.
