This work of art vividly depicts two women sitting on a café terrace, a staple of Parisian life. The two protagonists, dressed in vibrant yellow dresses, contrast powerfully with the dark, richly textured background. Their slightly relaxed posture and pensive expressions capture a moment of contemplation and intimacy. The composition is distinguished by the bold use of paint splatters that add a vivid, contemporary dynamic to the classical scene. The yellow splashes, in particular, seem to emanate from the women's clothing, creating a visual connection between the figures and their surroundings while adding a touch of abstraction to the realistic work. The inscription "SORBONNE" at the top of the image, slightly erased, subtly recalls the Parisian context and suggests an intellectual and cultural connection. The use of light and shadow is masterful, giving depth and relief to the elements of the image. The elegant café chairs, with their white and yellow stripe patterns, add a note of Parisian chic and enhance the urban and cosmopolitan atmosphere of the scene. This painting manages to capture the duality between the everyday and the extraordinary, between reality and art, thanks to its realistic details mixed with contemporary pictorial interventions. The work transports the viewer to a moment in everyday life, beautifully immortalized with a bold modern twist.

Born in Courrières in the North of France, I share my time between the North of France and Paris which inspires me many urban scenes including café terraces. I have always used oil paint because slow drying suits my technique better. I work in series by inspiring my surrounding, places I go to, objects I own and stage. In the series "Réflexions sur le temps qui passe", I treat the cars and Vespa in the manner of the "vanities" of the past by perforating the bodies, rusting them, thus translating the time that passes and which reduces to few things once prestigious vehicles. The parallel is obvious with our own existence. In the still lifes séries, I stage objects with a preference for metal and glass and using a palette of coloured grey and nuanced white so as to have a contemporary touch. In the series "Mes petites Nanas", I interpret scenes, situations, by putting in scene my daughter who is used to me as model (The comedy of the feelings, or the works on the small girls). Finally, the urban landscapes are inspired, as I said earlier, by my numerous stays in Paris where I live part of the year.
