Multi media: Emulsion, acrylic and gesso with engineered Zabrano veneer on Poplar. Bare Zabrano is covered with paint but left bare to make up very bare striped simple trees. Through the tree the viewer can see a distant Island/coast. Either coming or going it someone sailing a boat. Graphic, simple but evocative. The painting is box mounted from behind with Birch ply

West London artist who spent 20 years as an award-winning recording artist and international DJ. He ran his own underground dance label releasing 'breakbeat'. He was part of the seminal Rave band Rhythm Section before going solo and performing around the world including Glastonbury, Field Day Australia and The Ultra music Festival in Miami. He switched to making art full time in 2013 when he got selected for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2013. He was also short-listed in 2014 and 2015. His work encompasses many varieties of printmaking including mono prints, screen prints, lino and digital. Increasingly he is blurring the boundaries between them. He paints onto wood and has been exploring different textures including engineered Ebony and Zabrano on Birch which is then painted over.
