About The Artwork
My niece was wading along the river's edge partially submerged in the water... and this became the foundation of this painting. As it developed, I added the child in the enfolding arms and then felt I was birthing "Mother Nature." There is a "Mona Lisa" smile upon the mother's face. I chose watercolor because this medium flows across the stretched paper like the water in the image flows.
