ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is part of a unique body of work where the impression of a moon plays a key role in the design. It is featured on a large field of color suggestive of a sky, but it is not literally anything but a field of color. The mood is somber and relaxed. It is on gallery wrapped canvas stretched over heavy duty stretcher bars. It is painted with oil and enamel paints and the edges are painted as well. It is wired and ready to hang. However it can be rolled and shipped in a tube to reduce shipping and crating costs, but the buyer would be responsible for re-stretching the canvas. It is signed verso (on the back). Shipping weight is based on dimensional weight, not actual weight.

Al was born in Providence, Rhode Island, USA in 1954. He moved to South Florida in 1979 where he currently resides. ARTIST STATEMENT: Whether I am painting representational pictures or something purely abstract, I want the surface to be energetic and active enough to pull the viewer closer like a magnet. When I paint images my need to understand who I am as a person and the dynamics of the world around me is revealed in some expressive manner. When my work is abstract, I enter a subconscious world where expressive movement and color guide each gesture and shape to completion, and its essence seems to be captured from an endless sea of electronic impulses.
