About The Artwork

Bodega Bay is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy the coast near where we live. The waters can turn the most intense blue on some days when the sun is shining but the light is softened by a light veil of fog. This painted on a gallery wrap canvas that has l.5" sides which are painted a soft, silvery blue color that sets off the colors in this painting. It is wired and ready to hang without a frame.

I was born in Southern California and am now living in a wine country town in Northern California. After getting a B.A. in art from the University of California at Davis I worked as an art director, book designer and illustrator in the publishing industry for several years. I am now painting full time. My favorite media is acrylic because of it's tremendous versatility and fast drying qualities. My paintings generally have many layers of paint and sometimes textural stamping embedded giving them a dimensional aspect. My interests tend to be in the range of animals, birds, gardens, landscapes and sometimes completely abstract themes. Lately I've been exhibiting in local galleries and juried shows and right now I am working toward having a solo show, February 2018, at the local Persons Gallery in Santa Rosa. My favorite substrate is gallery wrapped canvas or board that doesn’t have to be framed and presents a clean, modern look. I like to finish the edges with layers of metallic interference paints that work with the colors of the painting.
