About The Artwork
Having suffered a number of debilitating back injuries while working as a mover in philadelphia, the Body Builder series comes from a place of remembrance of a time when bodily injury was never a thought in my mind. The female figures are in a way a self portrait touching on determination and the will power that is needed to be healthy again. Behind the figures are scenes painted from memory, my childhood home, a time before I knew about long term injury.

Since a young age I was always encouraged by my family to pursue art but it wasn't until my junior year at Hussian School of Art ( a college for graphic design and advertising) that I met a painting instructor who questioned my reasons for studying design and steered me to "paint everyday no matter what it takes". Since my graduation in 2012 I have had a number of exhibitions in Philadelphia, recently leading to my first solo exhibition in NYC.
