Body Signals symbolizes the state of mind of two participants attracted to each other but not in equal measure. Relationships at any stage go through moments of misconceptions, misunderstandings, silences and we all know communication is key to prevent all this. Still, there is always one that loves or is willing to listen, to forgive, to say sorry first, to start the conversation, to want it to go back to how it was while the other is always just a bit more stubborn, spoiled and egoistic. I have been both sides of these lovers at some point or another in life & can safely say that give & take, forgive & forget is all but a part of that crazy thing called love. In this piece I want viewers to almost immediately be able to recognize the dominating body.The irony is playful here where the size of the birds represent the inner emotions wherein the forgiving party even though more upset, is willing to receive the messages sent by the other in various forms through body language. Heavily textured & purposefully busy, this piece is a statement on the subtle but very real complications of relationships.

I have been painting for about 15 years now but my inherent love for art has been with me since I can remember. Having been born in Hong Kong and travelling the world over since an early age, I have always been aware and heavily influenced by colours associated with different cultures. I paint emotionally driven pieces straight from the heart. My work is inspired by social environments and have an underlying universal theme of survival, often portrayed by the use of bodies, birds & flowers. I find we are all creatures of habit, trying to do the best we can to find peace in the face of sacrifices & externalities that we don’t have control over. I use strong strokes and colours for layers and textures but my unique selling point tends to me my compositions. My all-time favourite artists include Picasso, Kahlo, Matisse and Naqsh. Power, passion, raw & free is what I hope my audience to feel while viewing my work as this is the energy I work with. I have lived in England for half my life and now am residing in Pakistan, a land full of natural beauty that has to be experienced to be believed.
