About The Artwork
I have long been interested in the use of colour within a dark ground and have long admired the work of John Piper. This is a brief attempt at developing previous work in language into the local landscape. I like the piece but am still three years later at an impasse of how to proceed on the landscape front. I do believe the landscape we live in shapes us in certain ways but I don't believe it is a major factor and as I develop my understanding of what I believe I will produce more images. The image is painted right to the edge of the paper and the paper has a torn deckled edge.
