Brexit Wound Painting

This work started before Brexit and was originally entitled Exit Wound. However upon reflection and given the events of the last few months it seemed fitting. It enacts my preoccupation with landscape and our relationship to the land. Identity, Body physical and not so, are woven into our sense of place. The wound is almost in a permanent loop. We perpetuate our situation through choice and conscious decision. We facilitate our own downfall. A move towards landscape an the places we exist will facilitate a loosening of the noose of materialism which we loop around our own throats.
