About The Artwork
Owls are among the most interesting birds. They are full of character which is concentrated in their penetrating eyes. They are birds of prey and hunt mostly at night, hence the large eyes. Burrowing owls are not so common but with luck and perseverance you may discover one. I trust the viewer will be affected by this owl's eyes and character. It is usually the closest look we can achieve. Perhaps seeing this bird will encourage the viewer to take a pair of binoculars to search for similar birds. Watercolour on 300lb cold pressed Arches paper because of its weight and because watercolour allows fine detail to be portrayed. I live in a rural area in the mountains with lots of land around the house, thereby, birdwatching is easy.
