Busting Loose is a very loosely painted mixed media on heavyweight acid-free paper. This piece was inspired by one of my students. She came into the studio wearing a pair of shorts with ragged edges. When I asked about them, she explained that it was the new trend that the young ladies were wearing. Needless to say, I learned a lesson in the new generation of fashion. I used watercolor pencils, acrylic, and acrylic markers to create the shorts. I added drops of paint to create puddles on the paper and allowed them to blend together. I added a little acrylic and watercolor pencils to create the skin tone. This piece will need a frame
