About The Artwork
This diptych is part of my Fragmented Collection of multi-panel paintings, which feature mixed media pigments and collage interspersed in layered arrays that render ethereal tonal effects over raw textile grounds. Pulling from a distorted memory bank of light-filled vistas following extensive travels, my compositions tend to evoke imagery of deconstructed landscapes or loosely splayed flowers. However, I purposefully avoid representation, preferring instead a vague composition that can be anything to anyone, imbuing the viewer with a sense of ambiguity that feels both familiar and imagined. This particular artwork consists of two panels wrapped in Belgian Linen over hardwood cradles and features gallery wrapped, painted edges. The artwork ships with hanging hardware and will be sent unframed, to allow the collector the flexibility to decide whether to frame as two separate artworks or one combined oversized artwork. Because this piece is unframed and spans two separate panels, a crate is unnecessary and the paintings will instead be bundle-wrapped face to face with foam board and bubble wrap cushioning and shipped in a heavy duty box.

Stacey Warnix is an American lyrical abstraction painter who uses gestural methods to render large-scale, non-representational paintings over raw textile. Her paintings explore the experiential affect of nuanced color and scale, using layers of disparate translucency and contrasting textures to subtly shift the perception, light reflectivity, and luminosity of her landscape-inspired color fields. Introduced to representational oil painting by an artist grandmother, Stacey created paintings and collages throughout her school years, winning frequent awards, but ultimately pursued a professional career in law and finance. She lived and worked professionally in California and London before moving to Texas, where she started painting again. Stacey experimented with gestural abstraction and became enamored with the process as a meditative escape. Today, she paints to escape a world of precision, finding respite in abstract forms, textures, and tones. Stacey’s paintings feature nuanced layers of mixed media pigments interspersed with collage. Her extensive years in residence along the California coastline made an indelible impression and that influence shows throughout her body of work, with marked visual references to time-worn, hazy memories of light-filled coastal vistas.
