About The Artwork

„Camouflage implies a seeing eye from which to hide.” Adolf Portmann This painting depicts the imaginary interpretation of camouflage. This naturally occurring phenomenon usually serves its user to merge with its environment. It occurs when certain creatures mimic the appearance, colour and odour of their environment. Camouflage happens if this synthesis´ function is for self-protection, or being under-cover. My painting represents a human figure who take on different forms in order to adapt to his/her surroundings. In this way, he/she achieves his/her full assimilation, and experiences disappearance. These adapted forms can also give him/her protective functions. The spiky agave with its fibre filled leaves can serve as perfect shelter for a person wishing to become “invisible”. This fusion with nature can provide one against social, political, cultural, psychological, racial and religious discrimination.

I consider myself a contemporary nomad, a ‘seminaut’ described by Nicolas Bourriaud, a person that surfs between present and past, and all existences available to her. She samples and re-mixes; she translates, reveals, and tries to decipher the panorama of current cultural, sociological, psychological and political mixture of codes and signs. I’m an artist that examines the question ‘Where should we go?’ rather than being attached to the questions of origins. I’m an artist that questions her own identity through her experiences. I detach myself and float as a rhizome, and experience the world through floating roots that act as detectors. I’m quite happy to feel free and without being tangled up in roots. I’m a natural path builder, connecting modes of expressions and communication. Currently lives and works in Budapest.
