The Angelo Volpe’s artistic research focuses on the analysis of a World that produces and emits an overload of symbols and images through different kind of mass media, with a hectic pace, able to bypass the thought. Although his poetry is shown through different mediums, Volpe's favourite expression remains the painting. This language is based on an eclectic and versatile aesthetic, a visual Universe, where models and codes combine deliberately, looted from the commercial mainstream and mass media, where different formal types converge, such as videogame graphics, cartoon, digital images, trademarks and corporate logos. An expressive contamination that is a unique and eccentric artistic idiom, which is characterized by a chromaticism pictorial lit and brilliant, that is expressed in a unique and prestigious style. His works reflect non-places, where personal and social imagery of the 21th century collide and merge onto the surface of the canvas, creating a collapse between form and colour. In the painting story, Volpe corrupts the origin of the current cultural patterns in Western society, scornfully, up to alter them, recoding their traditional symbolism, to return them to the observer through a texture, where his visual articulation slightly hides and slowly reveals, as mnemonic substrate codes, spaces, forms and structures that interpret and staged with irony and sarcasm, the whirl of modern life and the convulsive ownership sense of the “Consumer Civilization”.
