About The Artwork

In my new collection I begin a theme on the cartoons of the seventies, eighties. Cartoons which i have seen in my childhood. In this painting Goldorak, the robot leaves to the fight commanded by Actarus. I joined abstraction and representation; the warm, lively colors and form rhythms the space.

Mainly figurative at the start of her career, Myriam Andrew then experimented with abstraction. She then achieved a symbiosis between abstraction and figuration. Figuration takes over again, with singular shapes and colours. Her paintings and drawings question identity, society, the versatility of man, the place of women in society, slavery and anatomy. She is passionate about Michelangelo Buonarroti, Kandinsky, Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, Kehinde wiley, Chéri Samba and J.P Mika. Myriam Andrew's biros drawings depict little people, their humanity, their character, their attitude, their behaviour in society in the face of life's circumstances. Her work is richly coloured, using acrylics, oils, coloured inks, felt pens and collage.
