About The Artwork

This pop art canvas was inspired by the iconic scene from Joe Eszterhas's "Basic Instinct", when the stunning heroine Catherine Tramell crosses her legs in a short skirt, while being interrogated on a murder case. The painting belongs to the series of "Women Film Icons in Interior Design" by George Hertz. It aims to immortalize stills from iconic films and give an opportunity to viewer to once again take pleasure from the motion picture masterpiece and women who make them unforgettable. As a rule, in each of these pop-art frames there is a male spectator present, but only women are visible. This underlines women's dual position as both subjects and objects within each painted scene.
