About The Artwork
Inspired by the recent atrocity committed by a US dentist who tracked, lired, and killed this "protected" and much loved lion, Cecil. I am also inspired by Peter Paul Rubens sketches of lions. I am hoping the viewer will be inspired to think about Cecil and remember him when they display this painting at home and when entertaining friends. I am hoping it awakens compassion and caring for "predators" as the big cats are called. To me the real predators are the safari trophy hunters who murder these cats in cold blood.

Exhibited widely in Italy: Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Terni, etc. A professional educator, taught full-time at Lane Community College for over 25 years and worked as a manager for Lane County Regional Information System.
