About The Artwork

Aydin Korkmaz, Dr Ph Phylosophy: I had the opportunity to take a closer look at your painting and find it technically similar to some of the Expressionist figures. This picture shows me a reflection of the character's true essence in the world. I see that the being standing next to us and whose facial features are obvious represents the material / formal / concrete aspect of meaning. However, his real "idea", that is, his reflection in the "realm of ideas", has a faint and abstract meaning, and this is the real meaning; because it is intangible. While physical substance has a tactile sense, the feeling of something that is not fixed will change over time. The difference between these two characters can also be seen in movement. In other words, divisible motion, which is seen as the sum of time and space, is more evident in the body of the being, in the foreground; in the “form of an idea” standing aside, there is no movement, or the movement is an “indivisible” virtuality. If one examines the movement of the first centaur and the movement of the distant “ideal” centaur, this meaning is easier to notice. What I meant here is this: Your painting reminded me of the relationship between the world of ideas and the real world. We interpret the picture in two ways 1- sudden sensations. We owe this to our memory and our ability to perceive. So everyone has their own world of meaning. 2- technical analysis. This is combined with technical expertise in visualization as well as experience in other fields such as hermeneutics, philosophy or literature. Technical comments can continue, but personal comments do not change. For example, you listened to a piece of music 10 years ago. And you gave it some meaning. If you listen to it again, you can probably create new values, but according to the internal dynamics of memory, the images you first created cannot be lost; so the newly arrived images only complement the first. Yes, the meaning changes. But not regardless of the first impression. So, there is a similar rhythm in your picture. Here I have shared with you the personal meaning that I see in this rhythm. In other words, divisible motion, which is seen as the sum of time and space, is more evident in the body of the being in the foreground; this means: There is a profound debate around the world about the divisibility of movement. Movement can be divided into a living material form, because the real world consists of the conditions of time and space. in other words, the transition from a certain moment in time to another moment, that is, duration is movement. It is necessary to split the time to split the movement. Transition from one specific point in space to another; here's the move. If you want to find it, you need to divide the space. But those who argue that motion is indivisible show that it cannot be captured, despite the separation of space and time. In your painting, the “distant presence” represents the form of the world of ideas; on the other hand, the world of ideas does not depend on divisible forms. When I look at his image, the creature that is closer to us has a distinct ability to "move", having a powerful body and "having an angry face." In other words, if your picture had a continuation, this creature would probably move. But the second being, representing his essence, does not make that impression. Why? Because it is an "idea"; it belongs to the World of Idea. Plato says that not all objects in the material world are real, because they have essence / substance in the world of ideas. The real world is limited and incomplete. And the world of Idea, according to Plato, is perfect.
