I walked to a town named Algodon for Valentine’s Day and I saw this scene; men proudly arriving from another place. They were there to go from house to house to pick up fair young elegible girls and take them to the the party and the rodeo. I know a woman who met her husband at a rodeo. This was such a celebration and ritual that I felt I might have intruded but no, that did not seem to be so as every time the band finished a song, the musicians bowed to us, foreigners who arrived by chance but were clearly smitten by the beauty. And by the ritual. Later there was dancing and drinking of hot chocolate with raicia.
