About The Artwork

This painting was made for one exhibition on Literary Festival in Obidos in Portugal. The theme of the festival was "Time and fear". I made a comic story like painting where two seagulls discuss about time and fear. Translation of the dialogue: 1st line of dialogue 1_What are you thinking about? I think fear don't let me think. 2_Freezes my brain... ...I think I'm transforming into a penguin 3_Oh silly, what are you afraid of? Aaa, I start to think how time flies... 4_It pass so fast and nothing happens. 5_Listen! Just because it flies you think you don't have to do anything? 6_It's exactly that, it goes so fast and doesn't leave the space to move at all. 7_It's all in your head! Get it out of there! 8_How? I've already tried but didn't have enough time... 9_...so I decided to wait to see what will happen 10_But till now nothing happened 2nd line The time will tell which one will survive 3rd line 1_Do or not to do the result is the same. 2_ With time everything disappears. 3_It's not exactly like that, everything transforms yes 4_Every end is the beginning of something 5_But some people say that time doesn't exist. Really? 6_But people like to revive the past... 7_and project the future 8_forgetting to breathe 9_and simply be 10_at this moment This work is made on canvas without wooden stretchers.

Croatian artist living in Portugal. Since her first individual exhibition in 1997 she's been dedicating herself completely to art. She's been exhibited individually both in Croatia and Portugal and participated in numerous group shows. Her work is included in “Artist to look out for”, a publication released by the Starry Night Retreat in 2014. Through my paintings I want to interpret the world as I see it, feel it or think about it. With the interaction between colors I’m searching for new shapes and also to create a dialogue among them. My intention is to transmit to the observer different emotions, involve him into my inner dialogue. What is very important for me in the creative process of each work is to generate harmony. Even when I want to express despair, injustice or sorrow I need to find balance and harmonic rhythm. Although we live in a fast changing environment and being surrounded by suffering and most of us have had some kind of extreme experience, there is a kind of constant line witch extend all through human existence. In my paintings I’m not trying to imitate nature, I want to create some kind of a narrative beyond obvious appearances, the kind I can’t express with words or simply represent with familiar faces. My paintings are about people, even when it doesn’t seem so.
