About The Artwork
The flowing movements of water meet the fluid movement of paint. My work is inspired by the beauty of the water surrounding the Okanagan Valley. This painting is one piece of a series that reflects the essence and energy of Kalamalka Lake (also known as, "Lake of Many Colors"). Depending on the time of year, the lake will reflect different colors. I call this piece Chilutus because this was the original name given to the Lake by the Aboriginal people of the Okanagan before it was changed to Kalamalka. I am fascinated by water. Depending on it's state, water can invoke a wide range of emotions and is also a symbol for for renewal and rebirth. This is why it is so often my subject matter.
