About The Artwork
The painting "Church in Lviv" holds a special place in my creative work. I lived in Lviv in 2017. In this wonderful city, I experienced a revival of my interest in outdoor painting. The architecture, the condition of nature and the people – everything inspired me. In this painting, I wanted to show my elation with the things I saw. In reality, we live in special places. Each city is linked to certain stories and legends. The painting shows a casually sauntering person. We tend to not focus on the past in our mind, but nevertheless we are intimately connected with it. The person in the painting perhaps knows nothing about the place and the church next to which he is strolling, but he certainly is gaining experience by being close to it. We may not know much about the past of our world, but the present is woven of past things, and the future will be the fruit of our present actions. Artem Brazhnik His life started in Kyiv in 1997. From 2010 to 2014, he studied at the Republican Art High School named after T.G. Shevchenko. There he took part in various clashes and expos. In 2014, Artem entered the Faculty of Painting. The National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv was his alma mater. There he worked with teachers - V. Barinova-Kuleba, I. Kovtonyuk, V. Yalansky, V. Virodova - Gauthier, A. Belyansky. In 2017 - entered the workshop on easel art of Professor Igor Melnichuk. During his studies, Artem took part in competitions and exhibitions. Today, some works of this young and talented artist are in private collections. Others are waiting for their future owners. While obtaining an academic education, an artist works in: Animalistic; Landscapes, including seascapes, cityscapes, and Kyiv landscapes. Portraits, including graphic portraits. Still-lifes, including still-lifes with flowers and flowers themselves. Compositions, including abstractions.
