Ciclos Painting

Macister Rodríguez studied Fine Arts at the University of Reading. He is a figurative painter who has exhibited regularly since he graduated in 1999. He Curated REALITY, Modern and Contemporary British Painting for the Sainsbury Centre, which subsequently traveled to The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. This was a study of figurative painting from Sickert to the present day, including artists such as Lucien Freud, Francis Bacon, David Hockney, Paula Rego, George Shaw, and his own work. Solo exhibitions include Beaux Arts, London, PM Gallery, London, Smelik & Stokking and Galerie Rademakers in Amsterdam, GlynnVivian Museum & Art Gallery, Swansea, Northern Center for the Contemporary Arts, Sunderland, and Howard Gardens Gallery, Cardiff. Group shows include Fussball in Der Kunst, with Andy Warhol and Marcus Lupert in Germany, the BP Portrait Award at the National Gallery, London, and Heads in Flowers East, London. He has been honored at the BP Portrait Award, 50 over 50 and the Painted Faces exhibition organized by Saatchi Gallery and Windsor & Newton. He has also done Arts Council residencies at Sunderland Football Club and Birmingham International Airport. He has works in public and private collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, the National Gallery of Wales, Unilever, Galerija Portreta, Bosnia and Hertzegovena and many private collections in the UK, South Africa, USA and Europe. He lives and works in Panama, Ciudad de Panamá .
