ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired by one of the photo I shooted during a contemporary dance recital in Barcelona. I was almost hypnotized by the harmony flowing of the coraography, observing how much geometric shapes the dancers were able to create. In that case, it was immediatly clear the Circle shape. The background was black and the dancer was wearing in white. Then, for me, the invisible circle create by the movement and the lights was golden. After the photo and the mixedmedia painting, I also digitalized "Circle" to adapt the design in textiles and other accesories. Recomended in the print edition!

My name is Cristina. I am originally from Sicily and work as a freelance visual artist focused in painting, illustration, and tattooing. I trust working with my art. For over a decade, I have sold my paintings and my services; from commited works like private portraits as interior decorations, to larger-scale projects and editorial illustrations. I love traveling to investigate new places and people, catching pieces of their stories along the way. From an early age I found myself attracted to The Arts and began a formal education in the field as soon as I could. My project Vert_Ego was also born here in Valencia. Vert_Ego is an itinerant project that travels to key locations around the city. Its works reflect my philosophy about the relationship between our self interactions and our social compromises. In 2020, I began work with the art of tattooing. This new profession walks parallel to my other creative projects and allows me to take on a fresh medium where I am able apply my creative tools and experiences to help others express themselves.
