About The Artwork
This is a circular painting on canvas. It was inspired by a documentary which I saw regarding the penguins of Antarctica and the disappearing landscape which they inhabit. A mixture of pumice, wood shavings, sand, and plaster was troweled on the canvas to create the ice and earth. When dry, the painting was done with oil and acrylic paint.
