About The Artwork
In this collection, Beneath the Layers, 11 works of acrylic on canvas, I am exploring the many layers that make up who I am. Using color and movement I express emotion, thoughts, experiences, memories, and aspirations. My work is intuitive. I start with the colors that closely represent the emotions or experiences I am expressing. The color and movement guide me and allow me to open myself up. These paintings have allowed me to look within myself and begin to accept all that I am. I am an imperfect being that is introverted, highly sensitive, strong, afraid, explosive, emotional, and constantly working towards a better me. I want this collection to encourage others to look deep within themselves and find acceptance of every layer of their being.

The nature and animal lover, the free spirit, the mother, the daughter, the sister, the woman struggling with depression and anxiety. I am all of those and more. Art is a way for me to speak to others when I have no words to say, and it is a form of therapy for me when I most need it. Each piece created is a part of me, and sometimes it is hard to see that piece go. But I want my art to go to good homes, and breathe new life into those homes.
