About The Artwork
The painting is called Collider and was inspired by the kind of sub atomic imagery associated with colliding atoms. The painting is made of many layers that give it an illusion of depth and space. The painting is made using three unique different techniques that I have worked on in separate painting groups and have combined in this work. The painting has a Photographic look and uses iridescent paint so that the colours shift. It also has more textural elements added at the later stages to the paintings development.

Rupert Burt is a British contemporary painter. He studied at Central St Martins where he was awarded First Class Honours in fine art painting. He then went on to the Slade School of Fine Fine Art where he gained an MA in painting with distinction in 1995. He has shown internationally and at home since and has work in various public and private collections. I make abstract works in a number of different ways that share an illusionistic quality that throw up many figurative references, especially within the realm of science. The various unique and unorthodox methods by which the paintings are made seek to explore the possibilities of paint.
