About The Artwork
Do you know the feeling of being comfortably lying down to sunbathe, read or do what you like the best in a place that you perfectly know and love, and suddenly something destroys that balance? After a few months I painted this canvas thinking back to the stormy events that marked my 2022, pushing me to deviate from the planned path and to reinvent some bases of my life - keeping the cornerstones but also looking for something new. The painting focuses on the balance breaking instant, which is why I chose to accentuate the contrast between lights and shadows by creating a surreal scene with a background of drama that normally does not suit the represented context of an outdoor pool with waterslides. The canvas is not framed yet, it will be shipped rolled in a tube. Final varnish, signed certificate of authenticity.

I am a visual artist living and working in Turin. In my practice I usually take visual references from the universe of swimming to create artworks that deal with contemporaneity and the new problems involved in being part of it, with particular regard for the environment and young people’s difficulties in finding their way for the future. In my main painting series Pools (2017 - ongoing), I use recurring elements in my own life experience, modifying and recombining them in order to create paintings that can provide an active reflection on today's critical issues. Over the last years and within a context of eco-sustainable practice, I've started a study project on recycled materials, in order to find alternative supports to the canvas and question the hierarchy between the various components of the artwork. In my shop you will find also some landscape paintings and studies of old masters that I realized during my art studies.
