About The Artwork
A piece of singular and new colors within the plastic art of Enrique Pichardo. In "Compartments" new ways of creating the always different characters that inhabit the painter's works are explored. In this work of art by Enrique Pichardo, a turn in his executions can be observed since the colors he uses are in new coexistence. His lines evoke tales of great artists such as Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, Jackson Pollock, José Manuel Merello, Juan Gris and Albert Gleizes. Being the style of the unique master, with a mixture of everything that he defines as Naif. Work in rectangular format. Color composition of four colors: white, black, turquoise and brown. The piece is divided into nine fragments or compartments of different colors in which there are five characters distributed in one or more spaces of the colored background fragments. The five elements can be recognized by the circular elements that represent the eyes of each one of them. Each character also has one or two different colors and they are all found in different poses so that they fit into the "compartments". Enrique Pichardo's work of art can be recognized with the naked eye but it is difficult to encompass it, because despite having shared elements and techniques, the pieces represent and evoke different sensations, feelings and perceptions when they are discovered.

The Mexican plastic artist, Enrique Pichardo, has more than 30 years of experience as a painter. His technique and style combine artistic influences from other countries with the traditional Mexican influence. In his own words, he defines his art as naive expressionism. The plastic work of Enrique Pichardo has more than one aspect. On the one hand, he creates works that are densely populated with shapes, figures, and colors. On the other hand, he has abstracted urban landscapes with a neutral color palette that recreates everyday situations. However, the special characteristic that maintains the cohesion of all his pieces is the conviction of approaching art through a return to his childhood and his first traces. Paint like a child, paint with more expression than technique, paint with feeling over technique. The painter seeks the skillful strokes of his inner child to carry out each of his pieces.
