‘It’s all because humans are lonely.’ Whenever I encounter problems such as various crimes and war news, isolation of modern people, and distrust of humans delivered through media beyond the screen, this is my old thought that ultimately boils down to the cause. Paradoxically, with the development of indirect connectivity between digital screens, the social epidemic of ‘loneliness’ continues. Beings who are happy because of others and unhappy because of others. I desperately want to connect with others while protecting myself from anyone intruding deeply into my world. I also wandered in these contradictory feelings for a long time. How on earth can the world of mine and others come into contact without struggle? This question became an exploration and homework that continued into my own work. Here is a lamp person who has been engaging in defensive interactions by hiding his thoughts and feelings. This is an honest persona that the author wanted to hide, and a fragment of a lonely modern person who endlessly longs for a stable relationship.

I visualize the screen with ideas derived from the creepy light I face in my work. The screen I composed is about the colorful light surrounding me and the world, symbolizing the soul and life from my perspective. Among the materials of the painting, artificial lighting, such as light bulbs, neurons, and neon signs, is a meaningful medium that makes you feel simple comfort and empathy for trauma.
