About The Artwork
Canvas size: 59 x 46 cm Framed size: 77,5 x 64,5 cm Armand Jean du Plessis - cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, aristocrat and statesman of France. Cardinal Richelieu served as Secretary of State for Military and Foreign Affairs from 1616 to 1617 and was head of government (first minister of the king) from 1624 until his death. When I saw this original portrait I felt the deja vu effect and I decided to repaet this painting immediately. So, for the painting of this copy I took about 7 months time. 3 months for the acrylic preparation. And 4 months for the coloration in oil. I used three-stage method of old masters. The final step was the oil glaze. I love this artwork and hope the new owner will enjoy the painting also as the visitors of the original masterpiece in the Museum of Fine Arts of Strasbourg. This Artwork took participation in the following exhibitions in Russia: 2018 - Exhibition "Marathon of Arts" in the gallery of modern art "Gallery of Art "/" IZO Art gallery" (Moscow, Romanov per., d. 4, p. 2). 2019 - Participation in the 1st International Competition "Great Copy" ("European Fine Art," nomination: Copies of Baroque Masters), Sokolniki KVC (Moscow, 5th Luchevaya Proseka, 5A).
