About The Artwork
Discovering the world really fascinates me. Stories of exploration and adventure have kept me awake for long hours when I was a little girl. Now, having grown-up, I can explore the world for real. This is one of the many reasons why I started an on-going series of paintings around travel and exploration. Everyone has its own view on what it means and here I present a small part of mine. Cord on Deck is based on a snap I took during my honeymoon in Australia. We were cruising on a boat on the great barrier of coral and when I saw this cord lying on the deck I immediately wanted to paint it. I later added the silver gull that I was seeing everywhere around Australia. The painting is 50cm in height and 60cm in wide. It was done using fine oil Van Gogh paints on canvas.
