About The Artwork

This piece has two contrasting female figures. There is almost a visible divide, a vivid contrast between the two figures. On one side the figure is draped in colder hues, steely blues, and the other side oranges, reds, yellow. I want the viewer to feel the different energies, the colder gaze almost frozen gaze of the one figure in contrast to the warmer more inviting feeling of the other. This piece is done on paper, no frame or hanging materials included.

I am a scientist and engineering professor who spent most of her career focused on discovering new breakthroughs in my field. However I always had a secret passion for painting. I have accumulated a large collection of my paintings, and want to share my art with the world. I spent every spare moment in creating vivid and striking paintings that explored the topic of women in their many different roles and relationships. I love the way that art allows me to express myself in a way that science can't, and the satisfaction of seeing my work come to life on paper or canvas. For me, painting is a fulfilling experience that complements my work in science and I put passion and dedication into each piece. I was born in Argentina, and traveled all over the Americas and Europe, soaking up the culture and exploring new ways to express myself through art. Throughout my travels, I continued to work in science, in research labs around the world. Wherever I went, painting remained a way to connect with the world and express my innermost thoughts and feelings.
