About The Artwork

‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ : A Tribute to Freddy Mercury This is the fourth painting in my ‘Rock Gods’ Series which is a tribute to all the male musicians who, even in death, continue to this day to have an impact on me in some way or another either through their extreme artistic talents, lyrics, melodies, charisma, or just who they are / were. Their music is also very nostalgic for me. I first discovered Queen and the remarkable Freddy Mercury after my sister bought Queen’s Greatest Hits album. I played it constantly and was amazed by the harmonies that the four musicians created, especially in Bohemian Rhapsody. However, it was when I heard and then saw the film clip of Crazy Little Thing Called Love with Freddy on a motorbike that truly captured my attention. This was a very different sound than all of the other songs, one that I absolutely loved. It was also one of the 6 songs played at the iconic Live Aid Concert in 1985, so this painting of Freddy is named after that song. Vale Freddy May you Rest In Peace, but your music and influence live on forever. 14" x 14" / 35.5 x 35.5cm This work is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas and has been sealed with varnish, is ready to hang and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

"Inspired Art from the Heart" I am an emerging, self-taught acrylic artist born and living all of my life in Perth, Western Australia, until my move to Darwin in the Northern Territory in January 2020. I am inspired by nature, spirit, life, music and lyrics and just like my music tastes, my artistic style, techniques and themes are very eclectic. My ‘inspired art from the heart’ covers a variety of themes which encapsulates my raw uniqueness and spiritual energy as I create vibrant paintings of the beauty found in the details of my life. I have a love of painting and creating and want to share this with others to help inspire, heal, motivate or whatever emotion her paintings evoke. Every ANZAC Day (since 2016), I paint an original artwork to honour the fallen service men, women and animals and their ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. LEST WE FORGET. My mantra is as follows: “Art is like people, no two are the same. Each person has their own destiny, and art will always find its destiny too.”
