About The Artwork
Inspired by a Croft seen on the Island of Jura. Repeated imagery including buried digital image to create an image that reads as both a figurative image ( the croft) and an abstract image ( a falling cube). Incorporating both drawing and painting - drawing through the use of oil pastels and painting with acrylics. I am hoping that viewers will see the Scottish connection in the croft imagery and abstraction through the repetition of imagery and the fractured design. There is also a deliberately ambiguous mix of night and day.
