About The Artwork
Using Ella’s floating technique, this artwork is built up slowly by applying a thick clear glaze between each layer of paint. What results is a beautiful depth, iridescence and luminosity. Each brush stroke casts a literal shadow on the layer beneath. This makes the style of Ella’s artworks unique, and utterly captivating to look at. You’re rewarded by lingering a little longer - the more you look, the more you will see. This artwork to me is reminiscent of a renaissance artwork. The colours feel like a painting of a heaven scape, as though a chariot pulled by Pegasus carrying the gods could pass through the frame of vision at any moment. Please allow 2-3 weeks for framing and shipping. All artworks come framed.

Ella Thrupp is an artist. She’s a dichotomy of opposites. She will constantly surprise you, she will constantly change course. Her mind is too full with all the things she wants to create; which is bad for marketing because her style swerves, often. Hopefully you’re not her marketing manager. Fingers crossed for you. The strange, dark, old places of the earth - the ancient power, the sacred, the occult, the mythical stories of the creation of the world - they all interest her. She’s caught by glimpses of movement, and tries to capture them in return. She loves a harmonious colour palette. Ella works primarily with acrylics and oils on wood panel, because the wood takes pressure better than canvas when it all comes out too quick in a moment of emotion. Please enjoy.
