Cyclone Pam Painting

In this series, instead of conventional brushes, I use my fingers which allow me to feel the texture of the paint and surface tension in order to produce a sense of motion through swirling patterns on the canvas. The visual appeal of radar imagery illustrates the beauty in destruction. In March of 2015, Pam achieved Category 5 status making this storm the second most intense Tropical Cyclone of the South Pacific with wind speeds of 174 mph causing 24 deaths and 692 million dollars worth of damage. Pam was one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the island of Vanuatu.
