About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by my grandmother, who lived to 100, she saw the world change from colonial to post colonial Zimbabwe. In her passing her wisdom and positivist outlook through decades of joys and sorrows of outliving her husband and several children, live on. She lived everyday to the end. I chose to celebrate her life and regenerative wisdom in bold form and colour. I believe she was most beautiful as she aged and shared herself with us and it is this that I hope the viewer can connect with.
