About The Artwork

Radar Technician : [Into raspy-sounding intercom] Sir? Colonel Sandurz : What is it? Radar Technician : Can I talk to you for a minute, please, sir? Colonel Sandurz : [Dark Helmet and Colonel Sandurz approach the Radar Technician] Well? Radar Technician : [Into the intercomm] I'm having trouble with the radar, sir. Colonel Sandurz : [Putting the intercomm microphone back] You don't need that, private; we're right here. Now, what is it? Radar Technician : [Raspy-sounding intercomm voice] I'm having trouble with the radar, sir. Dark Helmet : [Tears the microphone out of the deck and throws it aside] Dark Helmet : [after tearing the microphone out of the desk] Now what is it? Radar Technician : I'm having trouble with the radar, sir. Dark Helmet : What's wrong with it? Radar Technician : I've lost the bleeps, I've lost the sweeps, and I've lost the creeps. Dark Helmet : The what? Colonel Sandurz : The what? Dark Helmet : And the what? Radar Technician : You know. The bleeps. [makes bleep sound effect, making a ripple motion with his fingers] Radar Technician : The sweeps. [makes sweep sound. Quivers his face while doing it] Radar Technician : And the creeps. [makes creep sound, making little movements with his fingers] Dark Helmet : [to Colonel Sandurz] That's not all he's lost. from ’Spaceballs’ (1987) Starring Michael Winslow (Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol), Rick Moranis (My Blue Heaven), George Wyner (Not Another Teen Movie), John Candy (Stripes), and Mel Brooks (History of the World: Part I). Written by Mel Brooks (Robin Hood: Men in Tights), Thomas Meehan (Annie), Ronny Graham (To Be or Not to Be). Directed by the Genius himself Mel Brooks (The Twelve Chairs). Spaceballs is a 1987 American science fiction comedy film co-written, produced and directed by Mel Brooks. The film stars Brooks, Bill Pullman, John Candy and Rick Moranis, with the supporting cast comprising Daphne Zuniga, Dick Van Patten, George Wyner and the voice of Joan Rivers. In addition to Brooks playing a dual role, the film also features Brooks regulars Dom DeLuiseand Rudy De Luca in cameo appearances. The film's setting and characters is primarily a parody of the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as other sci-fi franchises and popular films including Star Trek, Alien, The Wizard of Oz, 2001, and the Planet of the Apes. It was released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on June 24, 1987. Despite initially getting a mixed reception from critics and audiences, it has since become a cult classic, for its premise, and is now one of Brooks's most popular and well-known films. I’m (I am?) a self-taught artist, originally from the north suburbs of Chicago (also known as John Hughes' America). Born in 1984, I started painting in 2017 and began to take it somewhat seriously in 2019. I currently reside in rural Montana and live a secluded life with my three dogs - Pebbles (a.k.a. Jaws, Brandy, Fang), Bam Bam (a.k.a. Scrat, Dinki-Di, Trash Panda, Dug), and Mystique (a.k.a. Lady), and five cats - Burglekutt (a.k.a. Ghostmouse Makah), Vohnkar! (a.k.a. Storm Shadow, Grogu), Falkor (a.k.a. Moro, The Mummy's Kryptonite, Wendigo, BFC), Nibbler (a.k.a. Cobblepot), and Meegosh (a.k.a. Lenny). Part of the preface to the 'Complete Works of Emily Dickinson helps sum me up as a person and an artist: "The verses of Emily Dickinson belong emphatically to what Emerson long since called ‘the Poetry of the Portfolio,’ something produced absolutely without the thought of publication, and solely by way of expression of the writer's own mind. Such verse must inevitably forfeit whatever advantage lies in the discipline of public criticism and the enforced conformity to accepted ways. On the other hand, it may often gain something through the habit of freedom and unconventional utterance of daring thoughts. In the case of the present author, there was no choice in the matter; she must write thus, or not at all. A recluse by temperament and habit, literally spending years without settling her foot beyond the doorstep, and many more years during which her walks were strictly limited to her father's grounds, she habitually concealed her mind, like her person, from all but a few friends; and it was with great difficulty that she was persuaded to print during her lifetime, three or four poems. Yet she wrote verses in great abundance; and though brought curiosity indifferent to all conventional rules, had yet a rigorous literary standard of her own, and often altered a word many times to suit an ear which had its own tenacious fastidiousness." -Thomas Wentworth Higginson "Not bad... you say this is your first lesson?" "Yes, but my father was an *art collector*, so…"
