Daughters of Innocence Painting

You already know I’m a huge fan of texture in my paintings! I love adding thick layers of paint (impasto technique), scratching the painted canvas (sgraffito technique), I greatly enjoy including and upcycling fabrics, embroidery, feathers, leaves, pressed flowers or other (found) objects in my works. I’m even thinking about thinning out my coins collection for this purpose 😬♥️ The main reason I love creating this tangible appearance is for the unique, aesthetic, unusual and artistic value. I think there is a magical combination of surprise and familiarity to be found, a real (hi)story to be heard and an instant happiness and pleasure to be felt in the body. The positive impact on the environment when upcycling is just as important. Resources are saved, waste is reduced and awareness is increased.
