About The Artwork

Imagine... Imagine a white, clean space that introduces a kind of peace rather than reverie. White dimmed, waiting for what will happen. Imagine that someone of superhuman size is holding a brush or other kind of tool and leaves a mark, not on the wall, but on a surreptitious rectangle of canvas. For Andrzej Bembenek, painting is a constant search for a place to leave a trace, it is the determination of the area that makes it possible to ask a question resulting from the attitude to reality itself, which constantly changes, creating a new perspective of seeing. The world is an information network for him, which is constantly evolving, is not something unchanged for him, is in constant motion, and it is this movement, this changeability that Bembenek attempts to capture, stop, analyze. He is a "seeker" of his own means of expression and their interpretive contexts. The picture for him differs from the object, belongs to the imaginary world and participates in various forms of mind activity, is the carrier of information about the world and nature and about him. Bembenek lives in a reality that surrounds him, although because of the proper critical way of seeing her, he does not necessarily accept it and gives it expression in his painting compositions, and his forebodings are most appealing to him. On the one hand, it must live in it, and on the other - draw inspiration to create, regardless of whether the reality is around or in itself. This tear makes his action, and sometimes the way of looking, bordering on mental destruction, the negation of everything. Looking at these pictures, one has the impression that they happened a moment ago and for a moment, but the investigation method was long-lasting, "they are painted with short sessions". Rather, without sketches, in the most condensed and at the same time natural way to capture the accumulated emotions and impressions. For this experience to be as virgin as possible, sincere, charged with energy. " Painting Andrzej can start with the simplest inspiration, which is a fragment of the perceived reality; "The inspiration is everyday experience, searching for places and reading their meanings anew" - he says. Sometimes it is a plate, a wall, a shabby fragment of a wall, and sometimes even needs to paste a ready object into the picture. Focused present and hidden energy of the future. His will, strength and willingness to act creatively give rise to the manifestation of his experiences and thoughts. The search for new products has long since ceased to be the most important element for him, the question of priority is of little importance, each artist is in a sense the last or the first. Each artist is someone's debtor, he comes from somewhere ... Andrzej from the painting finds out who he is, he wants what is from life - truth and love. Magdalena Gryska
