This painting by Corbyn Rhodes is painted in the style of George Rodrigue an American artist who was born in Louisiana and became famous worldwide for his Blue Dog paintings. The paintings were based on the French-Cajan loup-garou legend. Some of his paintings are in the permanent collections of many museums including The Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. George Rodrigue died in 2013 at the age of 69. Bright bold colors simulate the foreground and background. The 3 dogs are painted in shades of blue and all feature the classic Rodrigue big round blue and yellow eyes. Sharp crisp yellow outlines define the dogs and draws out the matching yellow eye color. This is a fun, family friendly painting to help preserve the "legend" of these 3 dogs. Corbyn Rhodes also does custom pet portraits and is available for commissions thru Saatchi Art.

With many of my works I try to tell a story thru the piece itself. It may be in the subjects' eyes or the brush strokes or even the colors I use. Many times I use art as a way to highlight a particular person or event in history. I look for internal energy within the subject and try and find a way to express it visually. For me, Painting can challenge, frustrate and empower all at the same time. I want emotion and curiosity to play apart when someone views my work." Corbyn also has completed numerous commission works throughout the United States. His works are bold, dramatic and inspired by artist such as Andy Warhol.
