Swimming and blue are one of my favourite themes in my paintings. As a swimmer, I'm always fascinated by scenes regarding this sport trying to recreate by heart what I see or what I imagine to see under the water. This painting is made with some layers of acrylic ultramarine and phtalo blue, and then finished with oil colors. The entire work is painted on a 70x100cm sheet of Murillo paper, 350 gr/square meter and is about 1/2 millimetre thick. The painting has a white border of about 2cm all around, that witnesses the first step of my work, when I must tape the paper in order to paint it. The border allows you to handle the artwork but you can hide it with a further framing or simply keep it if you like it.

I am an Italian painter, illustrator and visual designer. My paintings usually deal with water and motion, a way to express my temper and my love for vitality with a powerful brushstroke. Water in particular is my element, and as a swimmer I am always fascinated by scenes dealing with swimming, windsurfing or water with a strong presence of blue tones. Lately I dedicate my creativity in painting mostly trees enlightened by a superior mystic light as a sign of hope Where they become symbol of rebirth in our endangered world. In this case I feel to have a different approach to art seen as a moment of intimate recollection. Besides my original paintings I also produce digital prints on canvas in limited edition, that is a way to give a physical life to my digital art that I create with graphic pen and tablet. I live in Rimini, Italy, on the Adriatic coast, and after graduating at the Polytechnic School of Design in Milan, I’ve been working in advertising and communication since 1989. At first as a freelance, then in my own studio, creating images, illustrations, logos, storyboards, brochures, posters, maps, infographics or technical and concept images. If interested to see further pictures of the paintings showed on this website, please write to curator@saatchiart.com. Thank you for your attention.
