About The Artwork

To continue the economy of 24/7 consumption and production and the ever-increasing population could not be sustained on this planet. The current system cannot support an inverted population pyramid due to aging and cannot sustain the environment. “Doughnut Economy,” a new economic model proposed by Oxford University economist Kate Raworth, visualizes an economy using a doughnut shape, not purely capitalist or socialist, aiming to break away from traditional growth dependency and build a society where everyone lives happily within our Earth’s limited resources. It is a global economic model focused on achieving an equal society without destroying the natural environment, allowing everyone to prosper. It advocates for labor reform, emphasizes work-life balance, strengthens childcare support, and assists in balancing parenting and work.

Kaori Hamura is an artist and illustrator based in the U.S. and Japan. Kaori's paintings are often spontaneous visualizations of the subconscious mind, inspired by dreams and meditation. Expressing kinetic energy has always been her theme. She expresses the moving energy of nature and mind. She uses the cartoon characters since that's what she is most familiar with growing up and people can relate to them. Art is a universal language and her goal is to communicate with people around the world through her art. www.kaorihamura.com www.mossmoon.com
