Dragongate Painting

This is the story of a Chinese myth; Koi are swimming on to the river, overcoming the struggles to climb to the source of the river. As they finally reach te source; they will transform into dragons; a fierce an much stronger animal than they were. This story is a paralel for us humans, in our live we struggle and overcome our difficulties.. and at the and we become stronger and wiser persons.. Thats why this painting is called the Dragongate; this is the moment the Koi swim through the Dragongate to evolve. Th blue may seem like water but it actually is the sky. When I was attending a funural of a dear friend, it was an early spring morning and the huge trees were beginning to sprout. As I looked up to the heavens, I litterely saw 'my' Koi swimming around the treetops, around the branches of this old tree. It was an image which I tried to catch, it was breathtalking. With swift movements I tried to catch the tumbling of the Koi..
