Dreams are a source of fascination for me. We spend a large proportion of our existence dreaming. Therefore they must be valid. When we shut our eyes to the trials and tribulations of every day life, our conscious mind rests, and our unconscious gets to work. Symbolism, metaphor, rich abstract, fragmented landscaped tapestries engage us in our sleep. They can provide pointers for the waking conscious mind. In this painting 'Dreams Make Sense' I have juxtaposed random elements. These are not preconceived and appear in my work as a result of my painterly process. Not unlike how symbols and metaphors can randomly appear in dreams.
