About The Artwork

Una vera e propria ode figurativa all'amore . The work is dedicated to love and the romantic idyll between Adonis and Venus, depicted in the famous neoclassical statue created by Antonio Canova in 1794. The painting is part of the series of pop and street reinterpretations of the masterpieces of classical art it is dedicated to the sublimation of love. A true figurative ode to love. The sculpture represents the last farewell between the goddess Venus and Adonis, a young man of extraordinary beauty, who will be killed by an enraged boar thrown against him by the jealous god Ares. The poignant verses of two famous poems are transcribed in the painting: “And shipwreck is sweet to me in this sea” from Leopardi's Infinito; “Love who loves nothing to love forgives” from Dante's Inferno

Damn, transfixed by the passion, the love we survive and Art makes us immortal William Goethe Born in Cesena (FC) on 12/11/1965 and resident in Cesenatico ITALY From an early age I loved to paint and draw. Fascinated by contemporary art and, in particular, from pop art and street art has started to create works inspired by the world of movie, fashion and graphic art In my works prevails a traditional figurative representation alongside the use of modern techniques, such as action painting, dripping etc ... associated with the use display of words and terminology in order to create a synergy between the spectator visual and aspects phonetic / sound The note of irony that characterizes the works, using a blend of aspects of advertising and using figures taken from comics, has the function to make it more "lightweight" the message of the work.
