This painting is the first of two abstracts made to commemorate the "Great American Eclipse" of August 21, 2017, a solar eclipse which was visible across the entire contiguous United States, from the Pacific to the Atlantic, an event that had not happened since 1918. This is a dramatic image done in oil paint, cold wax and gold leaf on a deep, gallery-wrapped canvas, no hanging hardware included.
