About The Artwork

This painting is at the border between figuration and abstraction, the whole is recognizable as a natural decor but the elements that constitute it are not realistic, vegetation and water are represented only by the play of shapes and colors and by their respective placement. The water is therefore mostly blue and covered with touches of other colors evoking possible leaves and flowers. The perspective also proceeds from the positioning and size of the various parts of the image, but it does not apply to the colors since they are not blurred in the background as they would be in a realistic landscape. I wanted this bucolic place to exude a sense of calm and joy without being disturbed by realistic details whose vision would deprive the emotions of their share of imagination. https://youtu.be/2w7tmRESre0

Luc Andrieux considers painting as an opening on the spiritual world that inhabits the universe. For him, it speaks directly to the mind of the one who looks at it without going through understanding, it is a matter of intuition and escapes reasoning. In his achievements, he always tries to bring out a kind of deep truth that shakes the mind. The colors, the light, the matter are assembled in compositions more or less abstract to arouse the escape and the freedom, both correlated to the desire of a dream world, fantasized. Through his various researches, he paints the border that binds man to nature and separates it at the same time, the past and future presence, the imprint, the passage, the presence and the absence of time. Its purpose is to generate an interrogative contemplation, certain that painting makes better the one who looks at it thanks to the emotion it transmits to it. https://www.youtube.com/@lucandrieuxpaintings
